Be a Part of Reinventing the Wheels
June 13, 2014
Jenny Bertolette, Communications Director, Meals On Wheels Association of America
The 40th Anniversary Meals On Wheels Annual Conference and Expo will convene hundreds of senior nutrition colleagues from coast to coast in picturesque Scottsdale, AZ this August 26-28 to focus on Reinventing the Wheels. Through three days of workshops, sessions and social gatherings, we will connect with experts and colleagues who will expand our thinking, teach us new skills and share their plans for the future. Conference courses provide the opportunity to work in-depth in the major areas and disciplines that make Meals on Wheels programs run.
Together, we will explore refining business acumen, diversifying revenue streams, accommodating shifting demographics, fostering new partnerships and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enable us all to meet the expanding needs of seniors for decades to come. Special guests Bob Aiken, Chief Executive Officer of Feeding America, and Lisa March Ryerson, President of AARP Foundation, will join Association President and CEO Ellie Hollander for an inspiring opening panel session on the future of senior hunger in America and how we can collectively and collaboratively impact this growing epidemic. National Basketball Association Hall of Famer, Bill Walton, will join us as a keynote speaker. Bill’s personal reinventions since leaving basketball make him the perfect fit for our 2014 Meals On Wheels Annual Conference. Come experience Bill’s unique flavor of inspiration and motivation as we look to reinvent ourselves. This year, for the first time, full Conference registration for non-Association Members includes a one-year Meals On Wheels Association of America Membership for qualifying organizations.Association Membership delivers more than $1 million in annual grant opportunities in addition to providing timely and relevant news and information, education and training, networking opportunities, group purchasing discounts, representation on Capitol Hill, local and national campaign support and so much more for you and your entire staff.
