National Tropical Botanical Garden – Horticultural Internship Program

This work-study internship is for college- and university-level students interested in horticulture for career purposes. Interns work with staff caring for and learning about the plant collections. Schedule includes introduction and training, lectures, or workshops by NTBG staff faculty on plant propagation, plant records/mapping, botany, ethnobotany, restoration ecology, conservation, and more.

National Tropical Botanical Garden – Junior Restoration Team

The Junior Restoration Team program takes conservation education to the next level of hands-on participation. This program brings students to sites to participate in ecological restoration projects. The students come periodically throughout the school year to complete all phases of the restoration project.

National Tropical Botanical Garden – Tropical Botany – The Kampong

Tropical Botany is an intensive course of study in the biology and systematics of tropical plants. Academic credits can apply. Conducted in collaboration with Florida International University, the International Center for Tropical Botany, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, and the Montgomery Botanical Center, the course is usually held in the summer.
