Farewell Message from Rebecca Middleton
June 30, 2020
Tuesday, June 30th, is my last day as Executive Director of the Alliance to End Hunger. I will be joining WFP USA as their Vice President of Public Policy and Advocacy on July 6th. I’m incredibly excited about my new role at WFP USA and look forward to continuing to work with many of you to help meet the needs of those most at risk of hunger around the world.
I am so grateful for my seven years with the Alliance working with you – our members, friends, and other allies – on a range of critical initiatives to build the public and political will to end hunger. I am also fortunate to have worked with and learned from the many anti-hunger champions here, including Ambassador Tony Hall, David Beckmann, and our deeply committed board of directors. I look forward to staying connected with the Alliance and its work as WFP USA is a long-time sponsoring member.
Asma Lateef, Director of the Bread for the World Institute, will be the acting Executive Director for the Alliance while the board conducts its search for a permanent replacement. Asma and the stellar Alliance team of Minerva Delgado, Danielle Haddy, and Nate Magrath, along with our VISTAs, fellows, and interns, will continue to advance the Alliance’s mission and accelerate its impact during this critical time when the pandemic and economic crises are driving up hunger both across the country and around the world.
Thank you again for your collaboration, support, and friendship over the years.
