The “Building Bread Teams” presentation provides an activist a tool that can be used to promote the idea of a Bread for the World advocacy team in his or her area. The Bread Team idea provides a model for organizing advocacy efforts at the grassroots level. The resource moves from an explanation of the team idea towards the implementation of the model through building the group and assigning roles. Along the way, it addresses the functions of a team, which include outreach, action, education, and communication. Through this approach, a self-sustaining community is formed that has the ability to mobilize and empower individuals and groups through advocacy.
