Hunger in America is a series of quadrennial studies that provide comprehensive demographic profiles of people seeking food assistance through the charitable sector and in-depth analyses of the partner agencies in the Feeding America network.

It is the largest study of its kind. The data collected help guide the development of programs and solutions that improve food security for individuals and their households and inform public awareness and policy development for addressing hunger in the United States.

Hunger in America 2014 is the sixth and most comprehensive study in the Hunger in America series. Through interviews with more than 60,000 clients and 32,000 partner agencies, we have a comprehensive understanding of the people who receive assistance through the Feeding America network, the personal and economic circumstances of their households, and the response of the partner agencies that provide assistance to those in need.
