The goal of the Texas Hunger Initiative is to develop and implement strategies to alleviate hunger through policy, education, community organizing, and community development. This resource provides a model for addressing hunger at the state level. The model discussed is implemented through creating Food Planning Associations in target communities and launching a Food Policy Roundtable with policy partners. The plan addresses the structure of a Food Planning Association and provides a seven step guide to facilitate its development. The resource also includes several appendices including SNAP dollars lost by county.
