Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) Food Pantry Network

The Des Moines Area Religious Council is an interfaith organization with a mission of working together to meet basic human needs for the greater Des Moines community. In 2021, DMARC commemorated the 45th anniversary of its Food Pantry Network. The Food Pantry Network consists of 14 partner pantry sites, multiple mobile food pantry locations, two food warehouses, a no-contact home delivery service, and numerous community partners. Nearly 200 faith communities across the religious spectrum support DMARC with money, donations of food, and service. DMARC also works to “shorten the line” at food pantries by advocating for effective policies that will reduce food insecurity, address root causes of poverty, and improve the lives of the people of Iowa.
