Alliance to End Hunger President Eric Mitchell Named Aspen Institute Food Leaders Fellow

WASHINGTON (May 29, 2026) Alliance to End Hunger president Eric Mitchell has been selected as a Food and Society at Aspen Institute Food Leaders Fellow.

Launched in 2022, the Food Leaders Fellowship is designed to inspire leaders to think bigger, expand their capacity for change, and build new collaborations for lasting impact.

As part of the program’s fifth cohort, Mitchell will join a diverse group of industry leaders, advocates, practitioners, and other key stakeholders to find practical solutions to food system challenges with a focus on innovation in food security and nutrition.

“I am honored to be selected for this tremendous opportunity,” said Eric Mitchell. “At a time when global challenges are deeply affecting food security, I look forward to engaging with and learning from leaders who are committed to creating a more sustainable and equitable food system.”

Mitchell has served as president of the Alliance since 2020. Under his leadership, the organization has increased its national membership of corporations, nonprofits, universities, and foundations while expanding its Hunger Free Communities network to over 30 states.

Before joining the Alliance, Mitchell held leadership roles in the private and non-profit sectors and served as a Senior Advisor to the late Congressman John Lewis.
