About the 2018 Hunger Free Communities Summit
Hunger Free Community (HFC) coalitions are multi-sector partnerships that are committed to ending hunger in their localities—bringing together a broad range of community stakeholders to unite behind a common vision and strategy. The Alliance to End Hunger is the largest convener of Hunger Free Community efforts throughout the country. In 2010, the Alliance formally launched the Hunger Free Communities Network™ initiative, responding to the need of community leaders across the country to learn best practices to help increase local food security.
The 2018 Hunger Free Communities Summit offers a unique opportunity to bring together anti-hunger advocates from across the United States. For the last few years, the Alliance has hosted the Summit with leading HFC coalitions, so attendees can experience partnerships in action. This two-day national event brings together current and aspiring Hunger Free Communities organizers with key stakeholders to learn, share, and network while exploring best practices. The 2018 Summit is being planned for October 2 & 3 in Minneapolis, MN and co-hosted by Alliance to End Hunger and Hunger Impact Partners, the legacy organization of Hunger-Free Minnesota.
The goals of the conference include examining:
- Effective strategies for addressing the root causes of hunger
- Collective impact and human-centered design strategies
- Innovative and transformative approaches from context experts
- New tools, resources, and partners for planning and evaluating community-based anti-hunger efforts
The Summit is an inspiring opportunity to connect with our of Hunger Free Communities network. Participants will make great contacts, learn new ideas to implement, and walk away with resources to aid their communities. We encourage anyone interested in community food security to register and reach out to Brittany Madison (email@example.com) with any questions or concerns.
