Hunger Free Vermont

Hunger Free Vermont is a statewide organization committed to ending the injustice of hunger and malnutrition for all Vermonters. We work to ensure that Vermonters have access to high-quality federal nutrition programs like SNAP during times of need, and that children and older Vermonters have access to strong meal programs at school and in their communities. We advocate at the state and federal level for the integrity of these programs and for measures that improve economic security and help more Vermonters make ends meet and put good food on the table. We also facilitate the Hunger Councils of Vermont, made up of 10 regional Councils throughout the state that are chaired by community leaders and work to raise awareness about hunger and its solutions at a local and state level. Our first Hunger Councils launched in 2006, and are now made up of over 1,000 Vermonters, representing themselves, organizations, schools, hospitals, businesses, and more.
