Twin Cities Hunger Initiative

The Twin Cities Hunger Initiative (TCHI), formed by greater Twin Cities United Way in 2006, is a group of fifteen leaders that work together to solve the hunger problem in the Twin Cities region. Members of the TCHI represent each of the important components that make up the hunger relief system including food banks, food shelves, meal programs, the state, advocacy organizations, the faith community and the major food producing companies in the region.

For five years TCHI has worked in a collaborative fashion to understand the problems faced by organizations that serve hungry people and to develop solutions that are practical, implementable and have lasting results. The TCHI created a plan to end hunger in the 9-county region and continues work to advance the progress of that plan, which is aligned with Hunger Free Minnesota’s vision to end hunger in Minnesota.
