Hunger Network ensures no one goes hungry and no food goes to waste. The organization began as a program of the Interchurch Council of Greater Cleveland in 1973 with 21 hunger sites. Incorporated in 1995, we are the largest grassroots hunger relief and food recovery organization in Cuyahoga County. We fight food inequity and injustice through a collaborative consortium of 52 pantries, 14 hot meal sites, 77 food donors and 104 nonprofit partners that serve our neighbors with dignity and compassion by providing them with healthy, culturally relevant foods and hygiene items.
Our eco-conscious Food Rescue Program began in 2018 expanding our work into Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Summit counties. As the 1st in Ohio and 3rd in the nation to implement the Food Rescue Hero app, we recover fresh food and deliver it to nearby community distribution locations in under an hour. Our Food Rescue Kitchen—the FoRK—will launch in 2026 to provide fresh nutritious meals using rescued food to Clevelanders.
